Baby Changing Stations

Parents running errands, shopping, or eating at a restaurant don’t have time to investigate which establishments offer baby changing stations in public washrooms. Caregivers with young children in tow only have one thing on their minds when they discover a soiled diaper – the distance to the nearest restroom.

Beyond quickly glancing to ensure the changing table is visibly clean, most parents don’t think to ask about the material used to construct the changing station or whether the table is inherently sanitary.  It’s likely that even fewer parents consider the possibility that simply placing their babies on changing tables could be harmful.

Foundations is confident that we can assuage any concern, no matter how uncommon, that a parent or caregiver may have when it comes to the cleanliness of your public baby changing stations.

Free of Harmful Chemicals

In recent years, there has been notable debate over the chemicals used to make products that feature antimicrobial properties, which is why Foundations is proud to produce safe baby changing stations that are free from questionable chemicals.

Some companies rely on antimicrobial additives, such as Microban®, but the purpose and properties of this chemical can be confusing for consumers.

The controversy surrounding Microban® is due to it possibly containing the chemical Triclosan. Although research on Triclosan and its potential effect on humans is ongoing and results are not yet definitive, its unsurprising that the simple question of its safety has encouraged many people, especially parents, to limit human exposure to Triclosan.

At Foundations, our Standard Baby Changing Stations are made of an additive-free blend of bacteria-resistant polyethylene while our stainless-steel models are made of the same polyethylene with the addition of an easy-to-clean steel frame for a more upscale design aesthetic.

All Foundations baby changing stations were made with sanitation and hygiene in mind. Not only is the polyethylene surface inherently bacteria-resistant, but it is also durable and easily cleaned or sanitized.

Additionally, Foundations baby changing stations have built-in dispensers for disposable baby changing liners. Our disposable, sanitary baby changing liners can be purchased separately and come pre-folded for space saving storage and easy dispenser refilling.

Despite our baby changing stations being manufactured with hygiene as a top priority, dirty diapers are called “dirty” for a reason and we still strongly recommend that your changing stations be cleaned several times a day.

When cleaning your baby changing station, use an all-purpose or pH-neutral cleaning solution. Be sure to clean all touchable surfaces including handles, sides, straps and the interior table. After rinsing the station with water, apply a safe disinfectant to all surfaces areas.  Don’t forget to check the changing station throughout the day to ensure that all parents and babies visiting your business have a pleasant experience, even when using the restroom.

We know how important it is that your facility meet the standards expected by your patrons, which is why Foundations is the most trusted name in child care. Foundations baby changing stations offer the best value and the widest selection to accommodate every budget and design objective.
